US Army 110th Military Intelligence Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description/Blazon A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure (Oriental Blue), a chevronnel debased Or, below two griffins' heads in fess point erased addorsed and conjoined of the like. Attached below the shield a Black scroll inscribed "SENTINELS OF THE SUMMIT" in Gold.

Symbolism Oriental blue is the primary color associated with Military Intelligence. Gold is emblematic of excellence and achievement. The chevron, a symbol of strength and support, suggests a mountain peak and connotes the unit's affiliation with the 10th Mountain Division. The griffins, ever vigilant and alert, appear above the mountain peak, epitomizing the unit's motto and mission.

Background The distinctive unit insignia was approved 12 September 1988.
