Deutsch: Der Gemeinde ist mit Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten Arnsberg vom 20.07.1970 das Recht zur Führung eines Wappens und einer Flagge (Bannerform) verliehen worden. „Das Wapen ist von Blau zu Gold (Gelb) gespalten. Vorne ein aufgerichteter doppelschwänziger, rotbewehrter goldener (gelber) Löwe in mit sechs goldenen (gelben) Schindeln bestreutem Felde; hinten drei pfahlweise gestellte schwarze Rauten.“ Das Wappen basiert auf einem Siegel aus dem 15. Jahrhundert. Der Löwe steht für das Fürstenhaus Nassau-Siegen. Die drei Diamanten stammen von den Herren von Seelbach, welche im Mittelalter die Gemeinde kontrollierten.
English: „The arms were granted on July 20, 1970 and are based on the old seal of Burbach. The lion in the right half of the shield is the lion of the Counts (later Princes) of Nassau-Siegen, as the area historically belonged to Nassau-Siegen. The three diamonds are derived from the arms of the Lords of Selbach. These medieval family had many possessions in the new municipality. The combination of the lion and diamonds already appeared in the seal of the local court of Selbach and Burbach from the 15th century.“
